Our Mamma Margherita Fellowship July meeting took place on one of the hottest days of the year so far and the 33 members who braved the summer heat were pleased to learn that OLSD hall was significantly cooler than outside.Â
WPC 22, also known as Jackie Dimmock, gave an extremely entertaining talk on some of her experiences as a Police Officer in Hampshire Constabulary from 1982 to 2012.
Very interestingly, Jackie’s visual aids were not in digital form but a series of handmade quilts, beautifully and lovingly sewn by her own hand.Â
Our thanks go to Jackie and the bakers who once again treated us to delicious home-made cakes.Â
Thanks too to Graham who brought our afternoon to a close with thoughtful words and prayer on the topic of valuing our connections to each other and walking alongside each other, especially in faith.
If you are retired or semi-retired, do consider joining us for our August meeting ( 14th of August) when Marilyn will be introducing us to a different perspective to the media view of Iran, when she shares her experience of travelling in Iran and introducing us to its culture and customs.
