24 Hours of Eucharistic Adoration

This Lent, during our Jubilee Year, our parish entered a profound time of renewal under the theme: “Renewing My House – Renewing God’s House – Renewing My Heart,”
inspired by the words of Scripture:

“Zeal for your house will consume me” (John 2:17).

From noon on Friday 20th March 2026 to noon on Saturday 21st March 2026, our church remained open for a full 24 hours, welcoming parishioners into a sacred space of Eucharistic Adoration, Confession, and personal prayer. It was a grace-filled invitation to deepen our Lenten journey and to come together as a community in prayer for World Peace and Vocations to the Priesthood.

In the Gospel, Jesus enters the Temple and restores it to its true purpose, a house of prayer. Over these 24 hours, that same spirit was alive among us. In silence and stillness, many came before the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Candles were lit, written intentions were placed before the Lord, and prayer cards gently guided moments of reflection.

More than 72 parishioners committed themselves to spend time in prayer during this sacred vigil, a beautiful witness of faith, devotion, and love for the Lord. It was truly a precious experience of unity in prayer.

All the written intentions entrusted to Jesus, many seeking healing and hope, were reverently incensed at the 24th hour. These intentions will continue to be prayed for and remembered by Fr Anthony during the Holy Week liturgies. Parishioners are also warmly invited to continue submitting their intentions at weekend Masses, placing them in the bowl near the altar.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Margaret Blaber, Sylvia Polley, Rita Curran, John Hughes, Paul Bryanhill (PPC Chair), and Christy Del Fresno for the beautiful preparation and adornment of the altar, which created a space of prayerful reverence and deep silence before the Lord.

As we prepare for the Holy Week, may we receive the grace of Christ’s light ever more deeply in our lives, and may He help us remove whatever obstacles block our path so that we may walk fully in the Light of Christ.
