Lenten Soup Lunch & CAFOD Fast Day

Our first Lenten Soup Lunch (pictured) was held in the Hall on Friday 20th February 2026.  We enjoyed homemade soup (leek and potato) freshly cooked by Martin Wood.  A simple but very tasty lunch in good company and with donations to CAFOD.

During Lent we are asked to help those poorer than ourselves and one of the ways we are doing this as a parish is by supporting CAFOD.

How can you help?

On Friday 27th February 2026 our parish will be supporting Lent Fast Day by encouraging all parishioners to live simply on that day and to donate anything they save to CAFOD.  Bring your donations to Mass the following weekend (28th February/1st March) or donate online.

This Lent, your donation can have double the impact.  Generous CAFOD  supporters are matching all gifts up to £378,000!

There will be a Soup Lunch next Friday for Lent Fast Day and every subsequent Friday in Lent. All are welcome and we would love more people to come.  Why not bring a friend along too – someone who might enjoy and benefit from some warm food and a friendly welcome?  Suggested donation: £3.00 with all proceeds going to CAFOD.

Thank you so much for your support.
