Introduction & Thanksgiving

On Wednesday 15th October 2025 we had our first introductory session for all our children, preparing them for their First Holy Communion and Reconciliation. This session helped the children with any worries they had and helped them get to know each other better.

 

We began the session by introducing each of the catechists, which was then followed by a task where the children had to choose two faith based statements that resonated with them the most. They then decorated their own personalised handprints and after a quick break for refreshments, we invited the parents in for a meditation and closing prayer by Father Anthony.

 

On behalf of all the catechists, we wish a warm welcome to our youngsters and look forward to sharing this special journey with them.

 

On Wednesday 5th November 2025 we began our first session from the Heart Speaks to Heart programme. Beginning with a short opening prayer, the children reflected on any worries or questions they had, which was then followed by a short reading of the story of Creation from Genesis. After this, the children broke into smaller groups and answered questions on what they were grateful for in their lives.

 

Following a short break for refreshments, the children completed a wordsearch on thankfulness. As a whole group, we then discussed the topic of Baptism, understanding its meaning and symbolism. We talked about the significance of the oils of Baptism and Chrism as well as the meaning of the Baptismal candle. After this, we invited the parents in for a short meditation and closing prayer.
