Angels: Christmas Decorations 2025

In this Jubilee Year of our parish, the Angel theme has been gently woven through our Christmas decorations, reminding us that heaven walks close to earth and that God’s messengers still proclaim hope, peace, joy, and above all, love. This Christmas season, our parish has truly come alive with beauty, warmth, and a spirit of togetherness. From the moment you step through the entrance to the serene glow of the altar, every corner reflects the guiding presence of the angels and the deep faith of our parish family.

In Scripture, angels are signs of God’s nearness, messengers who reassure us with the words, “Do not be afraid.” Throughout our church and parish spaces this year, the Angel theme invites us to pause, to listen, and to recognise Emmanuel — God with us — especially as we celebrate this special Jubilee moment in the life of our parish.

A sincere and heartfelt thank you to all the parishioners who came forward to make this year’s Christmas decorations so special. Your time, creativity, and generosity have transformed our church, entrance, and hall into sacred and festive spaces that radiate joy, reverence, and the loving protection of God’s angels.

  • Rita and Terry, thank you for crafting the beautiful Advent Wreath, a prayerful centrepiece that guides us through the holy season. Each candle echoes the angelic message of hope and faithful waiting as we journey towards the joy of Christmas.
  • Sylvia Polley and Chantal, your originally designed Angel Wreaths, placed around the church, are a truly heavenly touch. They gently remind us of the constant presence of God’s messengers and reassure us that we are never alone on our journey of faith. Thank you also for purchasing and placing the wonderful plants in the church and at the entrance, creating spaces full of life and vitality.
  • Teresa Chatterton, Paul Bryanhill, Isidore, Aquina, Ursula, and Sharon, your work on the church entrance has created a welcoming and uplifting threshold. Like angels at the doorway of heaven, the decorations invite all who enter to feel embraced, reassured, and prepared to encounter the Lord.
  • Our heartfelt gratitude to the young adults — Elliot, George, and Michelle — for the beautiful Altar Crib. This Nativity scene draws us into the angelic proclamation of Bethlehem, where heaven rejoiced as Christ was born among us.
  • A special word of thanks to George, whose dedication in putting up and beautifully decorating the Christmas trees in both the church and the hall along with Sharon has filled our parish spaces with light and joy. Thank you also to Ann Paton for purchasing the angel figures for the trees. Like angels who brighten the darkness, these trees stand as signs of life, celebration, and hope throughout this Jubilee Christmas season.
  • Irene and Rita, thank you for the beautiful church flowers, whose colour, fragrance, and elegance enhance our worship. Like the angels who offer beauty and praise before God’s throne, your floral arrangements lift our hearts and glorify the Lord during this sacred season.
  • To the core team of Mamma Margherita Fellowship, thank you for bringing festive joy to the parish hall through your Christmas decorations, creating a welcoming space for fellowship and celebration.
  • An immense thank you to Hana for overseeing that the church and parish hall are always kept clean and tidy. Your quiet, faithful service ensures that our sacred and communal spaces remain welcoming, dignified, and worthy of worship, reflecting the gentle, unseen care of the Angels among us.
  • Our sincere thanks to Dawn for making all the necessary arrangements to ensure everything was in place on time. Your organisation, dedication, and attention to detail have helped the entire parish organisation unfold smoothly.

This collaborative effort is a powerful testament to what we can achieve when we come together in faith and love, guided by the angelic message of God’s closeness. May these decorations not only delight our eyes but also inspire our hearts to live as messengers of hope and peace in this Jubilee Year and beyond.

Merry Christmas to all, and may the Angels watch over you, and the peace of Christ dwell in your hearts throughout this holy season and always.
