Blessing of the Graves

On Sunday 2nd November 2025 parishioners joined Fr Anthony for the blessing of the graves at Ship Lane Cemetery.

Morning Mass on Monday 3rd November 2025, was celebrated in  Commemoration of the Faithful Departed. 

Service of Light

On Friday 7th November 2025 at 7.30pm a special Mass for deceased parishioners and friends was celebrated.  Candles were used to remember all of our loved ones who died.

In the weeks leading up to November, parishioners were invited to note down the names of those to be remembered and to place them in envelopes in a basket near the Paschal Candle on the altar.  

During the Mass the names were read out by Fr Anthony.  A candle was lit in their honour by a representative of the family (if present) or by one of the altar servers if the family was not present.

This was a beautiful and moving Mass.  Names had been put forward by 108 families and over 800 names were read out.  

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen
