Talk from Beefeater

On Thursday 11th September 2025 the Mamma Margherita Fellowship met for our monthly meeting. Yvette welcomed everyone and especially new members, and we spent a few minutes remembering those recently passed.

 

Our speaker Tony Stratford, a retired Beefeater, arrived looking very smart in his uniform. Tony worked at the Tower of London for 20 years. He gave us a very interesting and engaging talk. His stories, all true, were varied informative and amusing, spanning many years of the Towers history. He also gave us an insight into what it was like living there with his family.

 

Tea/coffee and cake were served whilst we chatted amicably with each other before the raffle was drawn and notices announced. 

 

Our thought for the day and final prayer were led by Anne Diaz. Thank you Anne.

 

Hats for Seafarers: Thank you to Gaynor, Franky and Mary who between them have knitted 20 hats. These will be sent off to the Stella Maris charity.

 

Our next meeting will be on 9th October 2025. Deacon Paul will be sharing with us his experiences in Medjugorje. Everyone is welcome.
