Salesian Spirituality was the theme of our May Mamma Margherita Fellowship meeting when 48 members came to listen to Father David O’Malley’s talk. Parishioners will hear more on the theme throughout the year from Father Anthony but we were blessed to hear Father David give us an in-depth understanding and reiteration of the message that we are one family: we belong to each other and by showing each other Respect, Understanding and Affection and demonstrating Humour, we would encapsulate Salesian Spirituality. A beautiful short meditation and invitation to prayer suggested by Father David, was to close one’s eyes and breathe in on the first two letters RU and out on AH – inviting the Lord into our hearts with our breath.
Grateful thanks to Father David, who after a brief tour of the Church, made his way back to Battersea. Grateful thanks to all the core team who all baked in anticipation of “guests” from the parish and inundated us with delicious homemade cake.
Our June meeting will be a visit and very informative talk by a local audiologist and we welcome any parishioner who would like to join us – Seniors or not quite seniors – are all welcome!
